PREFACE
Thanks to the presence of God Almighty for
His grace and guidance so that I can finish the tasks subjects in English with
the title "The Noun Phrase" (countable-uncountable nouns) "as
well as the extent of the knowledge and capabilities.
And we
also thank Mrs. Ani Pajrini S.Pd as Lecturer subjects of English I, which has
given this task to us. This task collated aims to fulfill the task of English
in education at Islamic High School (STAI) Yayasan Nurul Islam (Yasni) Muara
Bungo.
We realize
that there are still many shortcomings and limitations in the presentation of
this paper. Therefore, we expect criticism and constructive suggestions for the
perfection of all the readers of this paper. Hopefully this paper useful and to
increase knowledge of the reader.

I
INTRODUCTION
A.ISSUE BACKGROUND
English is the international language. Some
countries even have English as a second language as the state language. English
has become a language that can help us to interact with the international
community, ranging from business to cultural exchange. One of the most
important areas of learning that is learning about grammar that includes
several things. One of them is the noun phrase.
In
English, the noun can have a series of descriptive words. The circuit is
usually placed before the noun. Explanatory words are called modifiers. This
modifier can be only one, it could be more than one.
Noun Phrase for understanding itself or phrase Benda said, is a noun which face a series of explanatory words; a set of words that core noun.

A. DEFINITION
OF
THE
NOUN PHRASE
Phrase or in the indonesian language,
called with a set words that are not composed of subject and object.
Noun is a word denoting substance,
plan, place, animal, person or something which is considered as a substance.

types
of concret noun
a. PROPER NOUN
Proper noun is a noun that is
capitalized is the name of a city and people
Example: Jakarta, Bali, Jhon, Bedul, etc
b. COMMON NOUN
Common nouns are nouns of usual
Example: Teacher, Book, Pen, Milk, Sugar,
etc
c. MATERIAL NOUN
Material noun is a noun that consists of
raw materials
Example: Gold, Silver, Oil, etc
d. COLLECTIVE NOUN
Collective noun is a noun that has a
plural meaning
Example: Class, Committee, etc

b. NON-COUNT NOUN
Non-count noun is a noun that can’t be
calculated

1. Many/Much
Many and Much have the same meaning.
Usually used to express the number in the count and non-count nouns. Many used
to count noun that precedes a noun, and Much used to non-count noun.

Few and Little have the same meaning. Few

the discussion of this paper we can take the conclusion, 1.The noun phrase noun phrase is the composition of words
and adjective noun, consisting of Limiting
Adjective,Descriptive Adjective and Noun.

count and non-count nouns.
Count
noun is a noun that can be calculated
Example: cat,house,table,etc
Non-count
noun is a noun that can’t be calculated
Example: water, sugar, cheese,etc
